STEPS IN THE ORGANIZATION AND THE BIDDING PROCESS

Mr. Bernard Sévigny, Mayor of Sherbrooke and 1st vice president of the 2013 Summer Canada Games Host Society, is pleased to announce that Mr. Luc Fournier has been hired as general manager of the organization.

|
A business plan prepared by Excellence Sportive Sherbrooke was submitted to the City of Sherbrooke’s municipal council.
|
|||||||
|
A technical document, part of the qualification phase for cities that are potential candidates, was submitted to the Canada Games Council.

A first tour of the site was conducted by the Canada Games Council’s technical evaluation committee.
|
|||||||
|
The Canada Games Council announced the list of cities retained for the second phase of the bidding process: the City of Sherbrooke was on that list.
|
|||||||
|
The full bid and the contract between the City of Sherbrooke and the Canada Games Council must be submitted before November 14.
|
|||||||
|
A second tour of the three finalists’ sites by the Canada Games Council’s Bid Evaluation Committee is foreseen.
|
|||||||
|
The Canada Games Council and the Quebec Minister responsible for sports will announce the city retained as host of the 2013 Canada Summer Games.
