Cascades Joins Forces with the Canada Summer Games - Sherbrooke 2013
The Kingsey Falls company will contribute to making the event eco-friendly
Kingsey Falls, June 5, 2012 – Cascades announces its partnership in sustainable development with the Canada Summer Games - Sherbrooke 2013. In collaboration with the Canada Games team, the company, leader in recovery and the production of green packaging and tissue products, will contribute to making this major sporting event “green” by offering, among others things, 100% recycled products.
As this country’s leader in sustainable development and with a strong commitment to the community and young amateur athletes, Cascades takes great pleasure in joining the Games as a Merit Partner.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for us to showcase our leadership in sustainable development from coast to coast. What’s more, it’s essential that we get involved in these efforts towards creating the first responsible sporting event, especially when it’s taking place in our own backyard! This is an important step in the organization of events of this size, and we absolutely wanted to support the initiative. We hope that many others will follow suit.”
- Alain Lemaire, President and Chief Executive Officer of Cascades -
Cascades will provide a variety of products such as fine papers, tissue papers and street furniture made from recycled plastic, and will also set up a “green squad” to educate the public about the importance of recycling.
