A delegation from the Canada Summer Games–Sherbrooke 2013 has been attending the 47th Finale des Jeux du Québec in Shawinigan, which ends tomorrow. Different teams have been onsite since July 26 to get a taste of what’s to come during this incredible experience that lies ahead. Being in the heat of the action provides an additional dose of adrenalin to our team for the important stages to come!”

Meetings between the two organizations enabled the transfer of knowledge key to the success of this scale of competition. These two events share many similarities, including the number of athletes (approximately 4000), and the need for a transportation system, accommodations, security, etc.

Organizing a service is a major challenge for all Sherbrooke 2013 managers. Being in contact with people who have experience will be a huge help.

“I’m sure that we’ll leave Shawinigan with concrete steps in mind that will help in planning the Games. Having the proper information helps in taking the right steps, and that makes it easier to manage such a large organization”

- Michel Dussureault, Deputy CEO – Planning and Competitions -

The Host Society of the Canada Summer Games–Sherbrooke 2013 is a Jeux du Québec de Shawinigan partner, providing materials.

Congratulations to the entire Shawinigan 2012 family on a job well done!
